Everlast’s Proposal for Barber Mill site

Along the banks of the Credit River is the old Barber Mill historic site. With the passing of time the buildings are deteriorating. A partnership between the developer the Town of Halton Hills and Credit Valley Conservation needs to be created to bring about new life to the area. This area could create new retail outlets, and hotel making it a showcase and tourist destination in our community, while creating local employment opportunities, and restoring a significant part of our past heritage. Purchasing the property by the Town makes no sense at all, when we have a private company who is willing to restore and maintain the property. It’s not in the public’s best interest to purchase this property as the restoration and on going maintance costs would be a heavy load on the tax payers.
