New Arena’s

With the retirement of the Memorial Arena in Georgetown, puts a strain on the existing facilities. Halton Hills being a large Hockey town has forced teams to locate to other facilities out of town. We need to ensure that there is plenty of affordable ice time available in our community. Council approved $40,000 for a Functional Servicing Study with respect to the location of any new arena and a detailed work plan and costing for preparing the sites for actual construction of the arenas. This is the start of the necessary work that needs to be done to resolve the arena shortage.
